Serie A: Isaac Success happy to secure precious point for Udinese against Napoli
Former Nigeria junior international, Isaac Success rescued a draw for Udinese in their Serie A matchweek 35 game with Victor Osimhen’s Napoli Monday night at the Bluenergy Stadium – Stadio Friuli.
Osimhen had given Napoli a 51st minute lead but Success, who has not scored since April 2023 netted the very important goal on 92nd minutes to move Udinese within two points of Serie A safety.
Success believes i is one point gained rather that two lost.
‘The point is more important than the goal, as it takes us closer to our target. It’s a draw against a top side. We wanted to claim all three points in front of our supporters, but now we need to look ahead. This point can give us a boost.’
‘Udinese had their full array of forwards to choose from, with Success thriving thanks to the competition in the squad,’ says the club’s official website.
‘It’s certainly a good thing. It pushes us all to improve.’
The website also reports that ‘following Success’ injury, he has received so much support from his team-mates.
‘This is a united squad. We’re like a family and I received so much encouragement. I was able to help out today in the space of just a few minutes and I hope to keep doing that. We’re all working hard for one another.’
The Udinese website also reported that Nigerian has giving credit to new boss Fabio Cannavaro.
‘His ideas are clear. Even though he’s not been here long, he’s already giving us so much. He has so much experience and he’s brought his personality too while trying to adapt to the team as quickly as possible. We’re certainly all working hard.
‘It’ll be tough against Lecce in our next game, but we’ll play to the best of our ability.’
