Italian Serie B side, Benevento say disciplinary measure will be taken against Super Eagles striker to the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Simy Nwankwo.

The 30 year old was accused of travelling to Naples to cheer on his Nigerian colleague, Victor Osimhen in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie.

Napoli lost the tie 2-1 on aggregate despite drawing 1-1 at the Diego Maradona stadium in Naples.

Benevento, bottom of the Serie A table and almost certain of getting relegated at the end of the season are not happy Simy travelled to Naples without getting official clearance to do so.

Videos seen after the game showed Simy with Osimhen and some other Nigerian celebrities.

The club believe the 30 year old is insensitive to their plight as they are bottom of the 20-team league with 30 points from 33 games.

Simy has featured in 22 of the games without either scoring or providing an assist.

The Nigerian was once the most talked about player in the 20/21 Serie A season when he scored 20 times 38 games to emerge as the top scoring Nigerian in a single Serie A season (record broken by Osimhen this season).

He was also the top scoring Nigerian in Serie A history with 31 goals in 101 games before Osimhen also broke the record this season.
