Sevilla report reveals Akor Adams faced bullying at Montpellier

Montpellier’s former striker Akor Adams, now thriving at Sevilla FC, was reportedly subjected to psychological abuse and bullying during his time in France, according to Spanish outlet El Desmarque.

The 25-year-old Nigerian international joined Sevilla during the winter transfer window, seeking a fresh start after a difficult stint at Montpellier HSC.

Sevilla officials reportedly met with Adams in January and were eager to sign him after learning of his desire to escape a toxic environment.

Sources cited by El Desmarque claim that senior players at Montpellier created an ‘unacceptable atmosphere’ in the dressing room, favoring another player over Adams and undermining his position.

One unnamed figure at the French club allegedly remarked, ‘He’s too good a person. Anyone else would have come to blows with his teammates.’

Following Adams’ departure, Montpellier suffered relegation to Ligue 2. Meanwhile, Adams has found his stride in Spain, scoring twice and assisting once this season, including a standout goal in Sevilla’s 4-1 triumph over FC Barcelona.
