Sevilla yet to register Iheanacho with LaLiga, Nigerian miss Villarreal game

Sevilla are yet to complete the registration of Nigerian forward, Kelechi Iheanacho with LaLiga and the former Premier League player may get his debut in the competition delayed yet again.

The 27-year-old was not available for selection when Sevilla visited Las Palmas last Friday for their opening game of the 2024/2025 LaLiga season due to the salary cap issue in Spain and the club will have to sell some players and balance their books before they can get some of their players, especially the new signings, registered to play in the league.

Sportsnow’s checks Tuesday evening on the website of LaLiga shows that the Nigerian’s name is yet to be among those cleared for the season, and with three days to the club’s second game in the competition against Samuel Chukwueze’s Villarreal.

Iheanacho joined the club as a free agent at the end of last month after nine years in England, playing Premier League football in eight of the nine with Manchester City and Leicester City.

The Nigerian will hope the Rojiblancos can get his registration done with LaLiga just in time for the game on Friday at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán in Seville.
