Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Makes NBA History, Breaks Wilt Chamberlain’s Record
It was a historic night in the NBA as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander etched his name into the record books.
The Oklahoma City Thunder star scored 35 points in his team’s 104-102 victory over the Boston Celtics, but the bigger story was his consistency.
By reaching at least 20 points for the 127th consecutive game, Gilgeous-Alexander broke a record that had stood since 1963, previously held by the legendary Wilt Chamberlain.
The game itself was a thriller. With the score tied at 102-102 in the final seconds, Chet Holmgren calmly sank his free throws to secure the win. Holmgren finished with 14 points and nine rebounds, while Ajay Mitchell added 15 points and six assists.
Boston pushed hard, led by Jaylen Brown’s 34 points, seven assists, and six rebounds. Payton Pritchard chipped in 14 points, but it wasn’t enough to stop Gilgeous-Alexander from making history and carrying the Thunder to victory.
