Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Joins Laureus as Global Ambassador
Jamaican sprint legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has been unveiled as the latest Laureus Ambassador, joining a growing roster of global athletes committed to using sport as a force for good.
Fraser-Pryce, a three-time Olympic champion and ten-time World Championship gold medalist, was the 2023 Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year.
Her career, spanning nearly two decades, established her as one of the greatest sprinters in history. She became the oldest athlete to win a global sprint title with her 100m victory at the 2022 World Athletics Championships, three years after becoming a mother.
Beyond her achievements on the track, Fraser-Pryce founded the Pocket Rocket Foundation, which provides scholarships and mentorship to Jamaican student-athletes. Her commitment to education and community development aligns closely with Laureus’ mission of improving young lives through sport.
She will make her debut as a Laureus Ambassador at the 2026 Laureus World Sports Awards in Madrid on April 20. Fraser-Pryce has been nominated six times for the Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year Award, winning in 2023.
Speaking on her new role, Fraser-Pryce said: ‘Laureus has long been a meaningful part of my journey, and I’m honored to take this next step as a Global Ambassador. My experience has given me a deep understanding of both the opportunities and challenges athletes face today, and I’m passionate about using that perspective to guide, uplift, and empower the next generation.’
