Shooting Stars Vs Kano Pillars: Oluyole Warriors seek record equaling sixth home win in a row

Following their 1-0 win against Sunshine Stars at the Remo Stars stadium last weekend, ending their six-match losing streak, Shooting Stars of Ibadan will be looking to become the second team this season after Ikorodu City to win six home games in row when they host Kano Pillars at the Lekan Salami stadium in Ibadan this weekend.

The Oluyole Warriors have won their last five home games, scored nine times and conceding just once.

A win against a Kano Pillars side who have won twice and drawn twice on the road this season are led by former Nigeria captain, Ahmed Musa, will move the homers to at least a guaranteed fifth spot on the log if other results don’t go their way.

When both teams met last season, Shooting Stars picked all six maximum points on offer, winning 1-0 in November last year before going to the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano to win 2-1 via a 94th minute goal by Dumte Pyagbara.

Kano Pillars manager, Usman Abdallah is confident his side can get a result this weekend in Ibadan like they have won done away from home on four occasions this term.

‘We are going away and it seems our team is comfortable playing away. We are hoping and praying to get the much needed support in the game to get the maximum points,’ Abdallah told Kano Pillars media.
