Shooting stars Vs Plateau United: 3SC bank on unbeaten home record for first win of new NPFL season
Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC, of Ibadan will be looking to continue their unbeaten home run in the second stanza of the Nigeria Premier League last season as they host Plateau united of Jos at the Lekan Salami stadium in Adamasingba, Ibadan in what is their first home game of the 2024/25 NPFL season after drawing 1-1 away at Nasarawa United in their opening game of the season.
The Oluyole Warriors won this tie 2-1 last season (September 2023) via goals from Ayobami Adekunle (37) and A. Ogbonna (76) before going to draw in Jos in the reverse fixture.
Gbenga Ogunbote believes they have turned the Lekan Salami stadium into their fortress and will be waiting to subdue the visitors yet again.
‘This is our home ground, our fortress. The Lekan Salami stadium, LSS. No team survived our sword all through the 2nd stanza last season. We didn’t concede a goal as well.
Later (Sunday) tonight, we are poised to start from where we stopped,’ the club wrote on it’s X page.
Shooting Stars finished fourth on the log last season, missing out on a continental ticket by a point and are prepared to go at least a step further this season.
