Snake catcher to the rescue as poisonous snake sneaks into a Brisbane International tennis match

A poisonous snake halted play at a tennis tournament in Australia on Saturday when it was noticed courtside during the
game between Dominic Thiem and 20-year-old Australian James McCabe in a first round qualifying match of the Brisbane
International event.

The snake, an eastern rown, is one of Australia’s most venomous snakes was noticed moving into the courtside where it was
spotted by fans

The umpire had to stop play as the snake moves on to the court to the shock of the players and fans.

Security was called in until a snake catcher arrived and managed to tease it into a bag.

According to the website of the Australian Museum, eastern brown snakes are capable of delivering a potent bite and their
venom can result in progressive paralysis and uncontrollable bleeding.

Australia is home to 20 of the world’s 25 most venomous, but deaths from bites are rare.
