Sportsville Awards Shifted to April 3rd, 2026

Organisers of the annual Sportsville Special Recognition Award have announced a new date for this year’s edition.

The event, originally scheduled for March 28, will now take place on April 3, 2026.

According to a statement issued by Sportsville Chief Executive Officer, Frank Ilaboya, the postponement was necessary to ensure full attendance.

Several awardees and dignitaries had prior commitments in Abuja on the earlier date, prompting organisers to move the ceremony forward by one week.

‘We realized that the March 28 date was no longer feasible due to a pressing national assignment in Abuja involving many of our awardees and invited dignitaries. To give them the opportunity to attend, we had to adjust our schedule,’ Ilaboya explained.

Now in its sixth edition, the Sportsville Awards has become a prestigious gathering of sports personalities, journalists, and leading figures in society.

This year’s ceremony will be held at the Lagos Country Club, Ikeja, under the chairmanship of Dr. Larry Izamoje, Chairman of Brila Media Group.
