Sunday Dare, Wike, others to grace Abuja City Half Marathon

The countdown is on for the Abuja City International Half Marathon, with just two days to go before the capital hosts one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing sporting events.
Excitement is building as organisers prepare to welcome elite athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and a host of dignitaries to the streets of Abuja.
A press conference will be held on Friday, December 5, at the Nicon Hilton Hotel, Abuja, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The briefing is expected to provide final updates on logistics, route management, and athlete participation, setting the stage for Saturday’s race.
Among the high-profile figures set to grace the marathon are Sunday Dare, Presidential Spokesman; Barr. Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory; Ayodele Olawande, Minister of Youth; and Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite, Minister of State for Finance.
Their presence underscores the growing national importance of the event, which has quickly become a fixture on Nigeria’s sports calendar.
The marathon not only promotes sports development but also highlights Abuja’s tourism potential, reinforcing the commitment of both public and private institutions to youth engagement and healthy living.
