Super Eagles Remain 26th in FIFA World Rankings, 3rd in Africa

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have retained their position as the 26th best team in the world and 3rd in Africa in the latest FIFA rankings released Wednesday in Zurich.

The team played two matches during the March FIFA international window, defeating Iran 2–1 and drawing 2–2 with Jordan.

Analysts noted that a win against Jordan would have lifted Nigeria one place to 25th globally, while maintaining their third-place standing on the continent.

Spain, Argentina, and France held on to their positions as the world’s top three teams. In Africa, Morocco and Senegal continue to lead the rankings ahead of Nigeria.

Meanwhile, DR Congo, which recently secured Africa’s 10th World Cup ticket and their first since 1974, climbed two places from 48th to 46th.
