Super Falcons Trophy Parade and Presidential Reception Set for Monday in Abuja

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is proud to announce that the Women Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) trophy will be making its way through the streets of Abuja on Monday, July 28, as part of a grand parade celebrating the Super Falcons’ record-breaking 10th title triumph.
Fresh off their thrilling 3–2 victory over Morocco in Rabat on Saturday night, the Super Falcons will touch down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by noon.
The team will embark on a celebratory procession in an open-roof bus, showcasing the prestigious trophy through key districts including Airport Road, Berger Junction, Maitama, and Wuse Market. Fans are encouraged to line the streets and join in the celebration of this monumental achievement in Nigerian sports history.
“This parade is an opportunity to connect our champions with the people whose cheers carried them across the finish line,” said Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, General Secretary of the NFF. “It will be a vibrant display of unity, pride, and excellence.”
Following the parade, the Super Falcons will be received at the Presidential Villa by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), who will personally congratulate the team on their outstanding performance and contribution to national pride.
The Women AFCON trophy parade and presidential reception underscore the country’s commitment to honoring the excellence of Nigerian athletes and inspiring the next generation of football stars.
