Super Lig Golden Boot Race: Shomurodov’s Goal Drought Hands Onuachu Six-Goal Advantage

Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu has surged ahead in the race for the Trendyol Süper Lig Golden Boot, opening up a six-goal lead over İstanbul Başakşehir’s Eldor Shomurodov after the Uzbek forward’s drought stretched to five matches on Monday evening.

Shomurodov failed to find the net in Başakşehir’s 0-0 draw away to Kocaelispor, leaving Onuachu firmly in control of the scoring charts.

The Nigerian has been in scintillating form since returning from AFCON 2025 duty, scoring in nine of his ten league appearances, including a remarkable run of nine consecutive matches before being held by Eyüpspor just prior to the international break.

Onuachu now leads the standings with 22 goals, while Shomurodov trails on 16.

Fenerbahçe’s Anderson Talisca and Galatasaray’s Mauro Icardi are tied on 13, with Mohamed Bayo of Gaziantep FK and Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen both on 12. Fenerbahçe’s Marco Asensio has 11, while Trabzonspor duo Ernest Muçi and Felipe Augusto each have 10. Umut Nayir, also of Trabzonspor, rounds out the top scorers with eight.

The battle for the Golden Boot promises to intensify as the season enters its decisive phase, with Onuachu’s consistency giving him a commanding advantage.
