Supercomputer proved right as Man United lose 2-1 at Brighton!

Opta’s Supercomputer predicted a win for Brighton at the Amex stadium against visiting Man United and it came to pass Saturday afternoon as the Seagulls scored late to win 2-1 to continue their perfect start to the 2024/2025 Premier League season.

Former Manchester United player, Danny Wellbeck put the Seagulls ahead in the first half. It was his 100th goal in the competition with five of the goals coming against Man United.

He is the highest scoring player against the Red Devils to have previously played for them in the Premier League.

The goal meant the Red Devils were not just battling Brighton but an unwanted streak. They have lost in the 16 away games in which they have conceded the first goal.

It was looking that the unwanted streak was about to end when they scored the equalizer on 60 minutes through Amad Diallo.

Nine minutes later, Man United thought they had taken the lead but the goal was chalked off after Alejandro Garnacho’s effort went in off Joshua Zirkzee on the goalline, and the Dutchman was adjudged to be offside.

Brighton turned the heat on the visitors thereafter and they made it count after Joao Pedro headed back across goal and into the far corner from Ivorian, Simon Adingra who clipped a cross to the back post invitingly.

Pedro has now scored 3 goals in 4 appearances in the Premier League against Man United.

The Seagulls are now unbeaten in their last four Premier League matches when leading at half-time.
