Team MTN Sweep Relays, Shine Bright on Final Day of MTN CHAMPS

Team MTN stole the spotlight on the final day of the MTN CHAMPS Continental Relays in Jos, delivering dominant performances across multiple events to close the three-day meet in style.

The highlight came in the Junior mixed 4x100m relay, where Team MTN swept the podium with their A, B, and C squads finishing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively.

Their athletes also shone in individual sprints: Michael Aniche powered to victory in the Junior men’s 200m with a personal best of 21.84s, while Lucy Nwankwo dipped under 24 seconds for the first time to secure bronze in the Junior women’s 200m.

In the men’s 200m final, Ezekiel Asuquo claimed silver in 21.78s, narrowly missing out on gold, while Showers Ushie added another medal for the team with a 3rd-place finish.

The Youth Boys’ 200m title also went to Team MTN’s Fervent Edet, who clocked a personal best of 22.32s to complete his sprint double.

Beyond the sprints, Team MTN’s depth and consistency across categories underscored their dominance, making them the standout team of the competition.

Their strong showing capped an electrifying finale at the New Jos Stadium, where records fell and new stars emerged.
