Tebogo extends post-Paris Olympics winning streak to five in Brescia

Olympic 200m champion, Letsile Tebogo has continued to prove he is the new face of the 200m and that his victory in Paris was not by happenstance as he eased to his fifth post-Olympics win at the 2024 Grand Prix Lombardia, a World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze event in Brescia, Italy.

The Botswana star ran 20.66 to win ahead of Norwood Vernon of the USA and Kobe Vleminchx of Belgium who both crossed the finish line in 20.75.

Tebogo will however be seeking for a favourable weather in Brussels as he ran into a -1.4 head wind in Brescia.

Also in Brescia, former World and Olympic 400m champion, Kirani James won the full lap race 44.86 ahead of Botswana’s Bayapo Ndori (45.26) and Miller Wendell of the Bahamas (45.97).

Timothy Cheruiyot, the 2019 World champion in the 1500m also won his race, running a personal season’s best time of 1:45.46 in the 800m while Watson Rohan of the USA ran 10.48 (-2.4ms) to win the 100m event.
