Tekke: Onuachu the Key to Trabzonspor’s Success

Trabzonspor’s victory over Başakşehir in the Ziraat Turkish Cup was marked not only by the team’s resilience but also by coach Fatih Tekke’s emphatic words about star striker Paul Onuachu.

Tekke, reflecting on the 4-2 win that secured a quarter-final spot, made it clear that Onuachu is central to the team’s ambitions.

‘When I first saw Onuachu, I called him the top scorer,’ Tekke said, underlining his belief in the Nigerian forward’s special qualities.

He praised Onuachu’s consistency, noting that his match performances have been strong and his training sessions even more impressive.

‘One hundred percent in every training,’ Tekke emphasized, describing the striker’s commitment as exemplary.

While acknowledging that simple turnovers sometimes limit scoring opportunities, Tekke insisted that Onuachu’s presence elevates the entire squad.

‘Onuachu doesn’t score goals alone, we are happy with the whole team,’ he explained, stressing that the striker’s success is intertwined with collective effort.
