Tiger Woods Released on Bail After Florida Car Accident

World-renowned golfer Tiger Woods was released on bail Saturday following his arrest after a vehicle accident on Jupiter Island, Florida.

According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, Woods, 50, was taken into custody on charges of driving under the influence (DUI), property damage, and refusal to submit to a legal test.

The incident occurred when Woods’ vehicle collided with a truck and rolled over. Authorities reported that Woods had to exit the car through the passenger door. He passed a breathalyzer test but refused a urine test.

Sheriff John Budensiek stated that while alcohol use was not suspected, officers believed Woods may have been under the influence of an unknown substance. Woods was detained for eight hours before being released on bail.

This is not the first time Woods has been involved in a serious car accident. In February 2021, he suffered multiple fractures to his right leg, ankle, and foot after his vehicle rolled over in Los Angeles, California.

Woods, who has won 15 major tournament titles, remains one of golf’s most celebrated figures despite ongoing challenges off the course.
