‘TOGETHER ALWAYS ‘: Lookman Shows Unity With Osimhen After AFCON 2025 Win

Ademola Lookman began his post-match reflections with a public show of unity, sharing an Instagram photo of himself carrying Victor Osimhen on his back in celebration of one of the striker’s goals against Mozambique, a strike Lookman had assisted.
The image, captioned ‘TOGETHER ALWAYS ‘, was a deliberate gesture to underline harmony after the pair were seen arguing during Nigeria’s emphatic 4-0 round of 16 victory.
The flashpoint came in the 63rd minute when Lookman chose to shoot rather than pass to Osimhen, who was in a promising position. The Gaatasaray forward reacted angrily and requested to be substituted just five minutes later.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Lookman dismissed suggestions of a rift: ‘Osimhen is my brother, there is no problem between us. It was just an argument during the match.’
His social media posts reinforced that message, showing the two celebrating together and reminding fans of their shared commitment to Nigeria’s AFCON campaign.
Nigeria’s victory, powered by goals from Lookman, Osimhen (2), and Adams, secured their place in the quarter-finals.
