Troost-Ekong to train under new coach when he returns to Al-Kholood in Saudi Arabia

Super Eagles stand-in captain, William Troost-Ekong will return to his Saudi Pro-League club, Al-Kholood to begin training under a new coach after the relegation-threatened side sacked their Portuguese coach Paulo Duarte and announced the appointment of 59-year-old Algerian manager Noureddine Zekri.

Duarte was asked to go after a disappointing start to the season, which saw the club managing only one win and suffering four defeats in their opening six games of the season.

With the club eager to remain in the Saudi topflight league after their promotion at the end of last season, the Algerian, Zekri, who has built a reputation as a specialist in helping teams avoid relegation has been appointed.

Al-Kholood will be hoping Zekri can hit the ground running when they face Al-Fateh on Sunday 20 October at the Prince Abdullah Bin Jalawi Sport City Stadium in in Hofuf, Saudi Arabia.
