Troy Deeney picks Osimhen over Ivan Toney for Chelsea

Former Watford FC captain, Troy Deeney says he will pick Victor Osimhen over Ivan Toney after Chelsea have been reportedly linked with the forwards with European transfer market closing on Friday.

The Blues have long been linked with Osimhen while reports on Tuesday revealed the west London side are also interested in Toney, from fellow west London side, Brentford.

Chelsea fans are divided who the club should go for, but Deeney feels it should be a straightforward pick and the man to deliver goals for Chelsea will be Osimhen.

‘I have always got to look after my boy (Ivan Toney), ain’t I? I was going to say Ivan, but for the way Chelsea are playing, personally, I am not a big Nicolas Jackson fan. I think he does a lot of running, but they don’t need that.

‘They need someone who is a bit like Haaland, looks after it, let the other guys run. Osimhen has the running, and he has got the ability, and the aura of I am going to score, I am the big man, give me the ball.

‘So, if you ask me non-biased, all cards on the table, I will have to say Osimhen over Ivan,’ Deeney told Sky Sports News.

Chelsea have reportedly submitted an offer to Napoli for Osimhen and have also reached an agreement with the player over his personal terms.
