Nets third hat-trick of Gent career
Gift Orban scored his first hat-trick of the season in just his third game in his club, Gent’s 5-0 mauling of visiting Polish side, Pogon Szczecin at the Ghelamco Arena in Gent in a UEFA Conference League qualifier on Wednesday evening.
The Nigerian, 21, scored on 13, 35 and 64 minutes to take his total haul in the competition to four goals in two games and five goals in three games across all competitions so far this term.
Orban has now scored at least three goals in a match for the Belgian Pro League side he joined at the end of January, 2023.
His total haul since he moved from Stabæk Fotball, a Norwegian second division side is now 25 goals in 25 games across all competitions.
He scored five times in six UEFA Europa Conference League games, four times in two qualifying games in the competition and 10 goals in 11 Jupiler Pro League matches.
He has also netted six times in six games in the Jupiler Pro League Europe play-offs.
