Unstoppable Onuachu Nets 37th Goal in 49 Games for Trabzonspor

Paul Onuachu continued his incredible scoring run, netting his fourth Turkish Cup goal in seven appearances for Trabzonspor and his 37th across all competitions in just 49 games. Of those, 33 have come in 42 Süper Lig matches.

Trabzonspor sealed a dramatic 4-2 victory over RAMS Başakşehir in the final Group A clash of the Ziraat Turkish Cup, booking their place in the quarterfinals.

The match was a thriller, packed with six goals and a red card, keeping fans on edge until the closing minutes.

Başakşehir struck first in the 6th minute through Felipe Augusto’s header from Ernest Muçi’s corner. Fayzullaev added another in the 35th minute, capitalizing on a defensive rebound to double the lead.

Trabzonspor tried to respond, but Umut’s effort in the 44th minute was denied by goalkeeper Doğan Alemdar.

The second half began with Da Costa pulling one back for Başakşehir in the 47th minute, before Brnic restored their advantage in the 66th minute with a precise finish from the left diagonal.

Trabzonspor refused to give in, and Mustafa Eskihellaç leveled the score at 2-2 in the 69th minute with a stylish strike.

The turning point came in the 79th minute when Ousseynou Ba was shown a straight red card for a reckless tackle on Ozan Tufan, leaving Başakşehir a man down.

Trabzonspor seized the momentum, and in the 84th minute, Onuachu delivered yet again, firing home the goal that put his side ahead. Just a minute later, Ozan Tufan pressured the goalkeeper into a mistake, with the clearance ricocheting off him and into the net to seal a 4-2 win.

With Onuachu’s clinical strike, Trabzonspor not only advanced to the quarter-finals but also celebrated the continued brilliance of their Nigerian striker, whose scoring consistency has been nothing short of phenomenal.
