Uzoho is First to Arrive as Eagles’ AFCON 2025 Camp Opens in Cairo

The Super Eagles’ preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations officially kicked off on Sunday, 14th December, as the team’s camp opened at the luxurious Renaissance Hotels in Cairo, Egypt.
Team officials confirmed that all coaches and backroom staff settled into camp earlier in the day, setting the stage for the arrival of players ahead of the tournament.
Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho became the first player to hit camp, touching down in Cairo shortly after 2 a.m. local time on Sunday morning. His early arrival is seen as a strong statement of commitment as Nigeria begins its build‑up to the continental showpiece.
More players are expected to arrive throughout the day, with full training sessions scheduled to begin once the squad reaches the required number.
