Valencia Launch Formal Bid to Re-Sign Sadiq Umar on Loan

Valencia have officially submitted a formal loan bid to Real Sociedad for Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar, signaling their intent to bring the forward back to Mestalla for the upcoming La Liga season.

The proposed deal is structured as a season-long loan, with Valencia agreeing to cover the entirety of Sadiq’s salary. Additionally, the offer includes a fixed payment to Real Sociedad, with potential performance-related bonuses under discussion. The Spanish club is eager to finalize the move swiftly, especially with the new season fast approaching.

Sadiq, 27, previously spent the second half of last season on loan at Valencia, where he made 19 appearances and scored six goals. His contributions were vital in helping the team avoid relegation, and his physicality and attacking instincts earned praise from the coaching staff.

Manager Carlos Corberán is said to be keen on reuniting with the striker, believing he fits perfectly into the club’s tactical setup.

While other La Liga sides such as Girona have expressed interest in Sadiq, Valencia remain the only club to have submitted a formal offer. Girona have yet to make a move, and other suitors appear to be monitoring the situation without committing.

Real Sociedad are reportedly open to negotiations. Sadiq has not been involved in full preseason training due to illness, and sources close to the player suggest he is open to a return to Valencia, where he felt valued and enjoyed regular playing time.

Valencia’s sporting director is optimistic about reaching an agreement in the coming days, as the club looks to bolster its attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
