Werder Bremen delighted with loan deal for Boniface

German Bundesliga side, SV Werder Bremen has expressed its delight with the ‘capture on loan’ of Nigerian striker, Victor Boniface from Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

The 24-year-old attacker joins the Green and Whites on a one-year deal, finalized on the final day of the summer transfer window.

Boniface arrives in Bremen with a proven track record in the Bundesliga, having played a key role in Leverkusen’s championship-winning campaign in 2024. Known for his physical strength, pace, and finishing ability, Boniface adds a dynamic presence to Werder’s attacking options.

‘We are happy that we were able to complete the loan and win Victor for us,’ Peter Niemeyer, Head of Professional Football at SV Werder Bremen told the club’s official website.

‘He has shown excellent performances in the Bundesliga and proven his qualities. We are convinced that he can build on this with us.’

According to the website, Head coach Horst Steffen also welcomed the addition, highlighting Boniface’s potential impact on the squad.

‘Victor is physically enormously strong, has a very good finish and a good pace. In Bayer’s championship season, he shone as a goalscorer and assister. I’m sure he can become a very important factor for our group this season.’
