West Ham Join Race for Chukwueze as Fulham Push for Permanent Deal
West Ham United are reportedly preparing to challenge Fulham for the signature of Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze, whose resurgence in the Premier League has caught the attention of several clubs.
Chukwueze joined Fulham on loan from AC Milan last summer, with an option to make the deal permanent. After two inconsistent seasons at San Siro, the Nigerian winger has rediscovered his spark in England, contributing three goals and four assists in 12 league appearances despite missing matches due to late arrival and his participation at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, West Ham have already made an initial enquiry about Chukwueze’s situation ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Hammers, under Nuno Espírito Santo, reshaped their squad in January with five new signings, but appear keen to add more firepower as they plan for the future.
Fulham, who currently hold the option to buy, are expected to rival West Ham for the player’s services, while Crystal Palace and Aston Villa are also monitoring developments. AC Milan remain open to selling if their valuation is met, with reports suggesting they want between £21.7 million and £26 million for the winger.
Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport noted that Milan are already guaranteed €12 million from Alex Jimenez’s transfer to Bournemouth and expect a far larger windfall should Chukwueze’s move materialize.
