Wolves Equal Historic Low as Arokodare Features in Brentford Defeat

Tolu Arokodare featured late on as Wolves set an unwanted Premier League record, equalling the joint-fewest points ever collected by a side in their first 17 matches of an English league season.
The Midlands club now sit alongside Newport County, who managed just two points in the fourth tier in 1970-71, and Sheffield United, who endured the same fate in the Premier League in 2020-21.
Arokodare was introduced in the 81st minute of Wolves’ 2-0 defeat at home to Brentford, replacing Ki-Jana Hoever.
It marked his 10th substitute appearance in 13 Premier League games since joining the club from KRC Genk of Belgium last summer. The Nigerian forward has yet to establish himself as a regular starter, but his cameo came on a night when Wolves’ struggles reached historic proportions at Molineux.
