Wolves Vs Arsenal: Arokodare Looks to Join Elite Nigerian Scorers Against Gunners

Tolu Arokodare is aiming to join an exclusive list of Nigerian strikers when Wolves host Arsenal at Molineux on Wednesday night.

The Super Eagles forward has the chance to become one of the few compatriots to score against the Gunners both home and away in a single Premier League season, a feat previously achieved by Taiwo Awoniyi and Peter Osaze Odemwingie.

Arokodare announced himself in December 2025 with his first Premier League goal, finding the net in Wolves’ 2-1 defeat at the Emirates.

Now, with Wolves battling relegation, the 21-year-old has the opportunity to complete the double against the league leaders and provide a vital spark in front of the home fans.

Awoniyi managed the milestone during the 2022/23 campaign, scoring in both fixtures for Nottingham Forest against Arsenal, though his side lost both matches 2-1. Odemwingie achieved it in his debut season in 2010/11, striking in West Brom’s famous 3-2 win at the Emirates before scoring again in a 2-2 draw at the Hawthorns.
