World Rankings: Kipyegon retains women’s number one status, Lyles replaces Crouser as men’s number one

Kenya’s double world champion and triple world record holder, Faith Kipyegon is still the number one ranked woman in the world while sprinter, Noah Lyles,
who won triple gold medals in Budapest, Hungary at the World Athletics Championships has supplanted Shot Putter, Ryan Crouser as the number one ranked man in
the world.

Kipyegon, who set three world records before the World Athletics Championships, won the 1500m and 5,000m gold medals in Budapest and improved her ranking
points to 1575, up from 1525 just before the championships.

World 200m champion, Shericka Jackson has moved to second place ahead of Femke Bol who drops to third.

American, Sha’Carri Richardson is ranked fourth while Yaroslava Mahuchikh, the Ukrainian who won the high jump title is ranked fifth.

Ireland’s Rashidat Adeleke is ranked sixth in the 400m and 92nd in the world.

For the men, Noah Lyles moved from third (1492 ponits) just before the World Championships to first (1556 points), repalcing Ryan Crouser (1550 points) who
dropped to second in the overall men’s rankings.

Pole Vault king and record holder, Armand Duplantis (1500 points) dropped from second just before the event in Budapest to third.

World 400m hurdles champion and record holder, Karsten Warholm is ranked fourth and Norwegian, Jakob Ingebrigtsen completes the tp five after winning the
5000m gold in Budapest.
