Yenagoa 10km Race Unveils Expanded Prize Structure

Nilayo Sports Management Limited (NSML) has announced an expanded prize structure for the inaugural Yenagoa City International 10KM Race, set for April 4, 2026.
The race is designed to position Bayelsa State as a rising hub for international road racing while rewarding outstanding athletic talent.
The event will begin at Opollo Roundabout and finish at Peace Park, reflecting global best practices and the organizers’ ambition to deliver a world-class sporting experience in the Niger Delta.
In the International Elite Category, male and female winners will each receive $10,000, with $5,000 and $3,000 going to second- and third-place finishers. Nigerian athletes will also be rewarded under a separate category, with the fastest male and female runners earning ₦1,000,000 each. Second-place finishers will receive ₦500,000, while third-place athletes will take home ₦300,000.
Organizers have also introduced a Group Run Experience to broaden participation and strengthen community bonds.
Teams of five runners will compete collectively, with ₦1,000,000 set aside as instant rewards. The first ten teams to cross the finish line together will each receive ₦100,000.
Managing Director/CEO of NSML, Yetunde Olopade, described the Group Run as a platform that blends fitness, unity, and social connection. She encouraged regular participants of the Weekly Prosperity Walk to embrace the challenge, running together, finishing together, and winning together.
