17 Goals, 7 Assists: Osimhen Sets Europe’s Longest Active Goal-Contribution Streak

Victor Osimhen continued his sensational start to the new season by scoring his fifth goal in three games as Galatasaray defeated Göztepe 3-2 in a thrilling Turkish Süper Lig encounter on Saturday.

The Nigeria international also provided an assist for Gabriel Sara as Galatasaray came from behind to secure the victory.

Göztepe took the lead in the 16th minute through Novatus Miroshi before Davinson Sánchez levelled for the hosts in the 33rd minute. Osimhen then turned provider, setting up Sara to put Galatasaray 2-1 ahead in the 55th minute, before finding the net himself to score the third goal for the Turkish champions.

Osimhen’s latest contribution extended his remarkable league run, with the Galatasaray striker now having 17 goals and seven assists across his last 15 Süper Lig matches in which he has contributed to a goal.

According to the statistic, that is the longest ongoing goal-contribution streak in Europe’s 10 major leagues, further underlining the Nigerian’s extraordinary consistency.
