17 Super Eagles Players Arrive For Russia Friendly

Seventeen Super Eagles players have arrived in Novgorod ahead of Tuesday’s international friendly against Russia.

The players and officials arrived in batches via Turkish Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines after travelling from Abuja to Istanbul, then Moscow before completing the journey to Novgorod.

The delegation was welcomed on arrival by a Russian choral group.

Among the 17 players already in camp are Akor Adams, Moses Simon, Benjamin Frederick, Emmanuel Fernandez, Stanley Nwabali and Kelechi Iheanacho.

The players took part in their first training session on Saturday evening as preparations began for the Russia clash.

The Super Eagles will hold two more training sessions on Sunday and Monday before facing Russia on Tuesday.

The Nigerian delegation has also had to adjust to extremely cold conditions in Novgorod, with temperatures around 1°C.
