2024 Women’s Basketball League Africa: It’s Customs Vs MFN Queens in titanic semifinal clash
Only one out of the two teams from Nigeria will qualify for the Final Round of the 2024 Women’s Basketball League Africa (WBLA) next month in Dakar after they were both pitched against each other in the second semifinal at the ongoing WBLA Zone 3 Qualifiers in Monrovia, Liberia.
The Nigeria Customs who recorded a 3-0 win in the group phase of the competition will slug it out with Nigeria champion, Mountain of Fire, MFM Queens, in the second semifinals at the Samuel Kayan Doe Sports Complex Basketball Gym in Monrovia, Liberia.
The Border Ladies practically had a stroll in the park in their third game with an 80-18 win over Liberia champions Commissioners Basketball club.
The game ended in a default in the fourth quarter owing to foul troubles for the Commissioners with seven of the eight players fouling out at the start of the fourth quarter.
Customs had earlier won their opening two games, blowing out Benin champions Energie 58-39 in their opening game and managed to beat SOA 66-59 in a keenly contested game.
MFM also won their opening game of the competition with an 112-42 demolition of Invincible Eleven of Liberia in a show of supremacy.
A Nigerian team will however be in the final as either Customs or MFM Queens will clinch one of the two tickets on offer in the semifinals.
