Osimhen trains alone as doubts grow over availability for Milan game

Victor Osimhen trained away for the rest of Napoli players on Monday ahead of their visit to the San Siro stadium in Milan where they will face AC Milan in the first leg of their quarterfinal tie on Wednesday.

According to the website of the Parnetopei, the Nigerian ‘did individual work on the pitch and in the gym’ and no word was said aboout when he will train with the rest of the squad.

Osimhen returned to Napoli with a tear in his adductor muscle after featuring for Nigeria in the two legged African Nations Cup qualifying games against Guinea Bissau.

He subsequently missed the 4-0 humilation Napoli suffered in the hands of Milan in a Serie A game and the 2-1 win at Lecce.

Napoli had hoped to recover him for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie with Milan but did not see the results they were hoping for in training on Monday.

If he fails to recover for the game on Wednesday, it will be the ninth game he will be mising for Napoli this season alone across all competitions due to injury.
