Golden Eaglets Step Up WAFU-B U17 Preparations with Friendly Matches

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets continued their preparations for the WAFU-B U17 Championship in Abuja with a 4-0 victory over Simonben Academy before playing out a goalless draw against Galadima FC.

The five-time world champions defeated the Kaduna-based Simonben Academy 4-0 at the FIFA Goal Project pitch inside the MKO Abiola National Stadium on Saturday.

The Eaglets went into the break with a one-goal lead despite creating several opportunities, before the team coached by Eboboritse Uwejamomere added three more goals in the second half to complete an emphatic victory.

Later the same day, the Golden Eaglets returned to the same venue to face Abuja-based Galadima FC in another friendly encounter.

However, they found their opponents difficult to break down as the match ended in a goalless draw.

The WAFU-B U17 Championship is scheduled to hold in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, from October 4 to 17.
