Flu keeps Osimhen out of Napoli training ahead of Inter Milan game

Victor Osimhen missed training due to the flu as Napoli returned to training Wednesday after the surprise 2-0 loss at Monza on Sunday

The Nigerian was thus not at the team’s Konami Training Centre on Wednesday to prepare for the clash with Inter Milan at the Stadio Maradona on Sunday in Serie A Week 36.

The players trained out on pitch two, kicking off with activation drills and rondos.

Aerobic conditioning work was next on the agenda, followed by a small-sided game to finish off.

Napoli gaffer, Luciano Spalletti will be hoping his talismanic forward will recover in time for the trip to Milan.

The Nigerian, 24, will be looking to score his first goal and earn his first win in five Serie A games against Inter Milan.

He tops the Serie A scoring chart with 23 goals, three more than Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez with three games left to play.

If Osimhen ends up as Serie A top scorer, he will become the first African to top the scoring chart in a single season and the first Napoli player to be top scorer and Scudetto winner at the same time.
