CAF name Ghanaian referees for Nigeria Vs Cape Verde 2024 WAFCON qualifier in Abuja
The Confederation of African Football, CAF, have named Ghana’s Rita Ama Boateng to referee the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier between Nigeria and Cape Verde.
Rita who earned her FIFA badge last year has been one of the best referees in the Women’s game in recent years – winning the best female referee of the year award in Ghana at the end of season awards in September.
She will be assisted on the lines by compatriot Doris Essuman Darko as Assitant 1 and Alice Farizua Chaklue as Assixtant 11 while Barikisu Chisu Salifu serves as the fourth referee.
The game is scheduled for the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja on Thursday, November 3, 2023.
It is the final qualifying round for the 2024 WAFCON tournament.
Nigeria earned a sweat-less first qualifying round passage when Sao Tome and Principe pulled out of the qualification series while Cape Verde defeated Liberia 6-2 on aggregate to book the clash with the nine-time African champion.
