CAF Champions League: Rangers charged to go for victory in Angola

As the date for the 2nd leg, and Nigeria’ league champions, Rangers International F.C of Enugu have been charged to go for victory and pick the ticket to the group stage of the prime club competition on the African continent in the second leg of their second round second preliminary round of CAF Champions League 2024/2025 fixture against Angola’ vice-champions, G.D Sagrada Esperanca

This charge was given to the team in Lagos as the team travelled out of the country to the Angolan capital, Luanda by the Group Managing Director, Afrinvest (West Africa) Limited, the club’s major partner, Dr. Ike Chioke.

Dr. Chioke in his charge to the team, urged them to be good ambassadors of the country in Angola while doing the needful on the pitch to ensure that the team secure the result that will see the club qualify for the group stage of the competition.

Our partnership has been rewarding and it’s our belief that it will get better with more sterling performances especially in the next match you will be playing in Angola which will see us qualify for the group stage of the competition.

‘Qualifying will see you breaking a long wait to play in the group stage of the most prestigious club competition on the continent. Be assured that we have great packages for you on return from Angola,’ stated the G.M.D of the leading independent investment banking firm.

Earlier in his welcome address, the G.M/CEO of Rangers, Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, thanked the major partners of the club for their support and belief in the activities of the club.

‘We are going to Angola to do a perfect representation for the country. We are physically, Psychologically and mentally prepared for the task at hand. The players are well motivated and looking to do the needful on the pitch and qualify us for the group stage of the competition.’

Also speaking, captain of the reigning NPFL champions, Chinemerem Ugwueze, said the players are super charged for the game.

‘We the players are fully ready to give our best on the pitch against the Angolans who I must say, are a good side. Motivation is very high. Our training sessions have been good and we are in the right frame of mind to play our game and we believe we shall qualify for the group stage.’

Players and officials of the Coal City outfit landed in Luanda, Angola early Friday morning to begin final preparations for the mouth-watering encounter that will kickoff by 15:30 hours (Angolan Time) inside Estadio 11 de Novembro, Luanda, Angola on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
