Lookman is Atalanta POTM for September!

Ademola Lookman has been voted Atalanta player of the month of September.

This was announced Sunday by the club through its official social media pages and website.

In making the announcement, the club wrote thus: ‘Who else but Ademola Lookman?

‘After going on sabbatical in August, the reigning Player of the Season bounced back stronger than before on the stage of the “Black-and-blue Oscars”, making his welcome comeback in a familiar setting for the Nigerian winger,’ the club wrote.

The 26-year-old scored twice and provided an assist in the month under consideration and the club’s website described the Nigerian’s impact thus:

‘Starting off from his dazzling “back to business” in the black-and-blue comeback against Fiorentina: where not only did he dish out the assist to make it 1-1 and score the decider, but he also swept the Serie A’s MVP award for good measure.

Back on the scoresheet, this time flaunting an ice-cold finish from the spot, he plugged the gap in the home setback against Como. In summation, two goals and 1 assist to tip this month’s needle in his favour.’

Lookman is looking to help Nigeria secure qualification early for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

He has scored twice so far in three appearances in the qualifiers and his goal against Libya on Friday was cruelly flagged for offiside by the referee.
