President Federation Cup: Semi-Final Battles Set in Benin City and Enugu

Robo Queens, Heartland Queens, Sunshine Queens, Nasarawa Amazons Chase Final Spots

The stage is set for fierce battles in Benin City and Enugu as four teams chase tickets to the grand finale of the President Federation Cup women’s competition.

At the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Lagos-based FC Robo Queens will face Heartland Queens of Owerri in the first semi-final on Wednesday.

Robo Queens, conquerors of multi-titlists Rivers Angels in the quarter-finals, are tipped by many to reach the final after also dispatching Rangers Women of Enugu and Remo Stars Ladies earlier in the tournament.

Heartland Queens, however, have shown resilience throughout the competition, eliminating Dragon Fury Ladies, Ahudiyannem Queens and Ibom Angels to reach the last four.

The Owerri side will be determined to upset the Lagos favourites in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.

In Enugu, Sunshine Queens of Akure will lock horns with Nasarawa Amazons at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in the second semi-final, also scheduled for 4pm.

The Amazons, long established among Nigeria’s elite women’s teams, advanced to this stage after sweeping past Osklean FC in the Round of 32 and surviving penalty shootouts against FC Naija Ratels and Edo Queens.

Sunshine Queens, meanwhile, have impressed with a strong run, defeating Solo Wonders, Plateau United Queens and Confluence Queens of Lokoja to book their semi-final berth.

The winners of both matches will meet in the grand finale on Saturday, July 11, in Asaba, where the 2026 President Federation Cup champions will be crowned.
