Chukwueze returns to AC Milan training after injury scare
AC Milan squad were back at Milanello on Wednesday to prepare for Saturday evening’s game against Maduka Okoye’s Udinese at San Siro with the good news regarding winger Samuel Chukwueze’s availability.
Chukwueze, according to Milan News, did some work with the rest of the squad and seems to be feeling better amid fears that he had returned from international duty with Nigeria early because of a more significant muscle issue.
The AC Milan player was not in Nigeria’s squad to the forgetful trip to Libya where the players were detained for almost 20 hours by their host in a local airport without food, drinks and internet access.
Chukwueze had left the team’s camp shortly after featuring in the 1-0 defeat of Libya in the first leg of Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double header against Libya in Uyo, Nigeria.
The Nigerian has started just two of seven Serie A games this season and has neither scored nor provided an assist.
In fact, the 25-year-old has not scored in the Serie A since March this year when he netted AC Milan’s third goal in a 3-1 defeat of Hellas Verona at the stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi.
Since he joined the Serie A club in July 2023, Chukwueze has scored just thrice and bagged three assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
