IBF orders heavyweight title eliminator between Bakole and Efe Ajagba
The International Boxing Federation, IBF, has ordered a heavyweight title eliminator between Congo’s Martin Bakole and Nigerian, Efe Ajagba.
The winner of the bout will become the mandatory challenger to Daniel Dubois’ IBF heavyweight title, moving one step closer to a shot at world championship glory.
Martin Bakole is ranked No. 4 by the IBF while Ajagba is ranked seventh.
The Congolese is on an impressive streak and has described himself as ‘a machine,’ with his 21-1 record, with 16 knockouts which underscores his punching power and technical skill.
Ajagba, known as ‘The Silent Roller,’ boasts a 20-1 record with 14 knockouts and stands at 6’6′.
The Nigerian’s determination and grit remain his hallmarks and a win against Bakole could mark a turning point for the Sapele-born fighter, pushing him closer to a title fight and solidifying his position as one of Nigeria’s most prominent boxers.
Both Bakole and Ajagba are known for their knockout power, and their combined physicality makes a drawn-out bout unlikely.
