Napoli chief, Manna denies PSG, Man United approach for Osimhen

Napoli director Giovanni Manna has denied reports that Paris Saint-Germain or Manchester United want to activate the €75m release clause and buy Victor Osimhen in January.

Osimhen joined Turkish Super Lig side, Napoli in September on a season long loan deal but the Nigerian can leave in January if any club comes forward with €81m being the release clause for a January transfer.

The 25-year-old has hit the ground running in Turkey, scoring 10 goals in 13 appearances and his impressive form has led to speculations that both Paris Saint-Germain or Manchester United are determined to lure the Nigerian to either France where he played before moving to Italy or make his dream move to the Premier League.

Manna has however distanced himself from the report, insisting no approach has been made for Osimhen.

‘I already said many times, nobody has talked to us. Victor is owned by Napoli and currently playing for Galatasaray. I think too much has been said about this, there is nothing happening.

‘We made a lot of investments over the summer, if it should be needed, we would be ready to make more. We are concentrated on our campaign, if there is an opportunity to improve the squad, then we will take it, but that is not our priority right now. Our job is to be ready if called upon,’ says Manna to DAZN.
