WBC Grand Prix winner Yusuf Adeniji celebrated in Lagos civic parade
Balmoral group and NBBofC Honour Boxing phenom in Alapere

A wave of celebration swept through Alapere, Lagos as the community turned out in full force to honor hometown hero Yusuf Adeniji, following his landmark victory in the WBC Grand Prix Tournament.
The celebration, held on Saturday, June 28, was spearheaded by Balmoral Group Promotions in partnership with the Ring of Hope Africa Initiative and supported by the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control (NBBofC).
Festivities began with a jubilant solidarity walk through the streets of Alapere, as locals, dignitaries, youth leaders, and boxing fans cheered for their champion. The march culminated at Comprehensive Secondary School, Alapere, where a grand civic reception was held in Adeniji’s honor.
Now a rising figure on the global boxing stage, Yusuf Adeniji’s strength, discipline, and resilience in the ring have catapulted him into the spotlight. His recent triumph in the second phase of the WBC Grand Prix cements his status as one of Nigeria’s most promising boxing exports.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ezekiel Adamu, CEO of Balmoral Group, hailed Adeniji’s journey:

The event also spotlighted the Ring of Hope Africa Initiative, a community empowerment program committed to developing young boxing talent in underserved areas across Nigeria.
