The Nigerian forward underwent medical tests in Milan earlier this week, but according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the club’s medical team flagged an issue that could impact the deal. Milan are now weighing whether to proceed with the transfer, seek a reduced fee, or pivot to alternative targets.
Boniface, 24, had been expected to join Milan on a loan deal with an option to buy, but the fresh doubts surrounding his fitness have complicated negotiations. While the move is not entirely off the table, Milan’s limited financial flexibility makes the prospect of signing multiple forwards unlikely.
In response, the Rossoneri have reportedly begun exploring other options. Sporting CP’s Conrad Harder has emerged as a leading candidate, with Rasmus Højlund, Nicolas Jackson, and Breel Embolo also mentioned as potential alternatives.
