Lookman suffers €20m market value crash, Okoye unchanged

Ademola Lookman has seen a dramatic drop in his transfer market value, falling by €20 million following the latest Serie A update from Transfermarkt.

The Atalanta winger, who will turn 28 later this month, has endured a turbulent start to the 2025/26 season, largely due to a transfer impasse with his club that kept him sidelined for the opening fixtures.

Lookman missed Atalanta’s first three Serie A matches and has only featured in three of the club’s eight games so far this season.

The lack of consistent playing time has significantly impacted his valuation, which now stands at €40 million, down from his career-high of €60 million, first reached in March and retained through June after the conclusion of the 2024/25 campaign.

The Nigerian international had been on a steady rise since his value dipped to €20 million during his time at Everton in December 2019, and then further to €10 million while at Leicester City between December 2021 and June 2022.

His resurgence at Atalanta had positioned him among the top rated African players in Europe.

Despite the setback, Lookman remains highly ranked: second among Nigerian players, second within Atalanta’s squad, 19th across all Serie A players, and 150th globally.

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye’s value is however unchanged as his career high €7.50m valuation which he first achieved in October 2024 was not affected by his lack of football action due to a betting infraction and his subsequent suspension.
