Arteta hails Ebere Eze as Arsenal’s spark in Premier League title chase

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised summer signing Eberechi Eze for delivering the kind of ‘magic moments’ that could prove decisive in the Gunners’ Premier League title push.

In a gritty 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, it was Eze, facing his former club, who provided the breakthrough with a stunning first half strike from a set piece, marking his first league goal for Arsenal.

With the team now in full pursuit of the title, Arteta acknowledged that results have taken precedence over style.

Yet, Eze’s flair and audacity offered a rare blend of both.

‘One hundred per cent, Eze delivers the magic moments. To strike the ball in the manner that he did… he did it very similarly last year, but against us,’ Arteta said after the game at the Emirates stadium.

The goal not only secured three vital points but also seemed to lift the creative burden off Bukayo Saka, allowing Arsenal to play with more freedom in the final third.

Arteta believes Eze’s confidence will only grow from here.

‘He’s certainly a big player, and hopefully that’s going to give him a big boost to generate many more moments like this, because that’s the kind of moment that sometimes defines a season.’
