Ability Warns Smart Lion Ahead of GOtv Boxing Night 34

Emmanuel ‘Ability’ Abimbola has thrown down the gauntlet ahead of his light welterweight showdown with Sodiq ‘Smart Lion’ Suleiman at GOtv Boxing Night 34, warning the younger fighter that he ‘will learn’ when they meet on December 26 at Tafawa Balewa Square.

The eight-round contest pits Suleiman, 21, who boasts an unbeaten four-fight record, against Abimbola, 23, one of the division’s most seasoned campaigners. Abimbola has over 20 professional bouts to his name and is a past winner of the prestigious Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy for Best Boxer.

Confident in his experience, Abimbola dismissed Suleiman’s perfect record as irrelevant. ‘He is confident because he has not faced someone like me,’ he said. ‘I have been in tough fights. I know what to do. Smart Lion will learn the difference when the bell rings.’

Suleiman, however, remains unfazed, insisting that his youth and hunger will prove decisive.

‘People talk about his record, but I am not here to be afraid of anybody,’ he said. ‘I am young, I am undefeated, and I am ready to show why they call me Smart Lion. I want to win this clearly.’

Their clash is one of several evenly matched bouts lined up for GOtv Boxing Night 34: Jams Festival.

Fans will also witness Segun ‘Odi’ Gbobaniyi take on Tobiloba ‘Smiling Assassin’ Ijomoni in a national lightweight contest, Ezekiel ‘Touch’ Seun face Toheeb ‘Full Tank’ Hassan in the super bantamweight division, and Sadam ‘Baby Boxer’ Oladipupo battle Imole ‘System’ Oloyede in an eight-round lightweight bout.

Organised by Flykite Productions, GOtv Boxing Night 34 will deliver more than just boxing action. The Boxing Day event promises live music and entertainment alongside the night’s fights, ensuring a festival atmosphere for fans.
